Published in National Geographic Magazine
I found out this week that one of my photos was published in National Geographic Magazine. …life goal, check!
A few months back this photo was featured in one of Nat Geo’s online assignments, Behind the Adeventure (by Jimmy Chin & Mary Anne Potts).
Side bar, I was just reading one of the most terrifying and compelling stories I’ve come across this year.
It’s about Jimmy Chin’s skiing accident in 2011 “Surviving an Avalanche – ‘There is Clarity I Need to Remember…’ …it’s a must read!

Camping in the High Country of Yosemite. This photo extends beyond the curved boundaries of Yosemite National Park, all the way to the edges our galaxy. In this image, I can feel my interdependence to the rest of the universe, while also being able to see and feel my friends. (Side note, the fire had burnt down to just a few barely glowing embers in order to get this shot to work)
A big thanks to my friends for being apart of this experience, and making this moment happen!
(in the photo: Zack Nagel, Shandra Campbell, Nicole Pruno, and Evan Knight)
Thank you Jimmy, for the kind words and inclusion in your and Mary Anne’s article!
Also, a big thanks to National Geographic’s Your Shot photo forum!
The inspiration and feedback I get from amazing photographers around the would make this a very powerful online photo community.
Check it out and start contributing your own creative view of the world!
